Statement of faith in the educators of today
A
commitment of excellence to the schools of tomorrow
Through our mission statement,
initiatives of the Center fall under three broad programmatic
categories: (1) Research and Service (2) Communications and
Information Dissemination, and (3) Policy Advocacy on Behalf
of Research Based Best Practices in Education.
- Research and Service
Historically the Center has been a leader in the development and
implementation of research sponsored and funded by the Florida
Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Education, the
National Science Foundation and private philanthropy.
This work includes:
- National research on the
efficacy of comprehensive school reform;
- State level research on
continuous improvement models;
- School leadership
development in Hillsborough County;
- Professional development
and training of school personnel in schools of need;
- Quasi-experimental design
evaluation and model dissemination;
- School Culture Quality
Survey (SCQS), a school self-assessment tool.
- Publications and
Information Dissemination
- The adoption and
implementation of the Anchin Book Series on Educational Policy in the 21st Century through InfoAge
Publishers, Inc.;
- The development of POLICY
TODAY policy briefs which explicate key issues in education
and education reform;
- The development of
EDUCATIONAL POLICY NEWS & VIEWS e-newsletter to serve as a
venue for explicating the views of educational policy makers
in the state of Florida;
- The adoption of the Anchin
Book Series on Social Issues and Educational Policy
through ABLEX Publishers.
- Policy Advocacy and Forums
- Public Forums that include
the Annual Gifts by the Sea Conference for school leaders,
teachers, and educational policy makers;
- The development of AM/PM
Critical Issues in Education Fora-invitational forums on
specific policy dilemma faced by policy makers;
- The Leadership
Collaborative.
