In 2010 the Anchin Center was priviledged to host the largest APSI in the South East United States. An estimated 1,000 teachers were in attendence. Throughout the week teacher participants were expected to hone their skills in teaching college level courses to secondary education students in physics, chemistry, biology, english literature and foreign language (to name a few). The opening ceremony, which was held in the TECO-Anchin Auditorium and simulcast to teacher participants in the ROTC Hall and Cooper Hall Auditoriums, was standing room only.
