Governor Crist Appoints Dr. Donna Elam to State Commission

On March 13, 2009, Dr. Donna Elam who is the Associate Director of Program Development & External Affairs at the David C. Anchin Center was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to serve as the Chair of the Florida Commision on Human Relations. The mission of the Florida Commission on Human Relations is to prevent unlawful discrimination by ensuring people in Florida are treated fairly and are given access to opportunities in employment, housing, and certain public accommodations; and to promote mutual respect among groups through education and partnerships. Dr. Elam, who was originally appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to serve as a member of the Commission is currently serving in her third term.
